Life groups are our primary way of helping others to follow Christ (discipleship) and create community where we can love and serve one another as well as those outside the group (bringing hope to the hurting).

Ministry Position: Life Group Leader

Commitment: 1 Semester

Intro: A life group leader facilitates a group by ensuring that each meeting includes a time of prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Group members will be encouraged to share, participate in discussions and apply what they are studying.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine a study to offer
  • Recruit and form a life group
  • Upload the group on Planning Center
  • Meet and take attendance
  • Assign weekly homework for application

Qualifications: 

  • Must be a spiritually mature/growing believer
  • Must be a member of a life group for at least one semester
  • Must have the recommendation/endorsement of a life group leader
  • Must go through the life group leader training

Ministry Position: Curriculum Researcher

Commitment: a couple hours per week beginning a month before a semester

Intro: In order to offer relevant and fresh life group topics, this person will comb through resources such as RightNow Media, Lifeway, Christian Books, etc to suggest topics that may be of interest to our congregation.

Responsibilities:

  • Self-paced examination of potential life group materials that can be suggested for use at Central
  • Make routine suggestions to the pastor in charge of life groups
  • Help life group leaders to identify new material in their area of interest
 

Qualifications:

  • Must have led a life group
  • Enjoys doing research
  • Organizational skills and ability to gather input from others

Recruit and organize life group leaders and ensure website group content is ready for each life group enrollment period. Lead and participate in life group training as needed. Provide assistance to life group leaders regarding appropriate Bible studies and content. 

Ministry Position: Life Group Leader Coach

Commitment: available for one year (all 3 semesters) or as needed.

Intro: A coach will be available to come alongside new life group leaders and others seeking support to improve their skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Support new leaders by meeting with them periodically
  • Observe new leaders occasionally
  • Assist in training new leaders
  • Provide new learning opportunities for all leaders

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a life group leader
  • Ability to mentor others
  • Growing in their relationship with Jesus

Ministry Position: Technology Coordinator

Commitment: serve for one year (all 3 semesters) at a time.

Intro: The Technology Coordinator will provide expertise in all things related to Planning Center and life groups. This includes troubleshooting and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist leaders in setting up and uploading their groups onto Planning Center
  • Training leaders to make use of the appropriate features of Planning Center, including taking attendance
  • Troubleshoot any technical problems that leaders might experience
  • Periodically monitor life groups for accuracy related to the metrics that are measured

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in leading a life group
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be well-versed in using Planning Center
  • Must be able to communicate/teach others how to use Planning Center
  • Must have good organizational skills
