Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and spiritually mature Business Administrator to oversee the financial and administrative functions of our church. This individual will play a vital role in supporting the church’s mission by ensuring excellence in stewardship, and facility management.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Oversight: Manage the daily operational needs of the church facility, ensuring it remains safe, functional, and welcoming.
- Personnel Management: Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files, records, and documents.
- Contribution Management: Oversee the entire contribution process, including the secure receipt and accurate recording of all donations across all giving platforms. Maintain confidentiality and ensure precise individual contribution records. Evaluate and implement cutting-edge tools, apps, and software to streamline financial transactions and enhance the giving experience for donors.
- Team Leadership: Oversee the Facilities/Office manager and the bookkeeper.
- Financial Execution: Execute payments for approved budget line items within limits set by the Overseeing Elders Council. Collaborate with the Treasurer and Financial Secretary to maintain accurate financial records and ensure that all contributions and payments are managed in alignment with the annual budget.
- Ministry Support: Assist ministry leaders by providing regular updates on their budgeted expenditures to help ensure financial accountability and alignment with approved budgets.
- Financial Records: Secure all church financial records and provide regular financial updates, forecasts, and projections to the Overseeing Elders Council.
- Reporting: Collaborate with the Treasurer to prepare financial statements, including income/expense reports and balance sheets, for presentation at business meetings.
Qualifications
- Spiritual Maturity: Must be living a life above reproach, demonstrating integrity, self-control, hospitality, and alignment with biblical standards of leadership.
- Professional Competence: Proven experience in financial management, business operations, and organizational leadership.
- Collaborative Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with elder board, staff, ministry leaders and church members.
- Doctrinal Alignment: Must affirm and uphold the church’s Doctrinal Statement, Covenant, and Vision.
- Work Schedule & Availability: This position offers a flexible work schedule; however, the Business Administrator must be available as needed to provide building access for contractors and ensure that members have access to the building during office hours and ministry events. Must be able to attend scheduled meetings with staff and ministry leaders when requested.
